Natalia has used participatory approaches to work with farmers and coffee cooperatives in Costa Rica to positively impact farming strategies and landscape policies. Now she is developing a platform for the Ecosystem Services Observatory System for Canada (ESOS-C) that brings together data and stories to help resource managers reframe the decisions they must make.

I study how ecosystem functions and services respond to climate change and anthropogenic disturbances, using a combination of field, lab, and big data approaches. I am currently focused on developing and enhancing ecosystem service layers across Canada to support evidence-based policies on ecosystem management.

I am a budding social-ecological scientist exploring the relationship between environmental policy, ecological resilience and Indigenous food sovereignty using “two-eyed seeing” approaches. My work is co-produced with Indigenous leaders and emphasizes the vital role of Indigenous voices and knowledge in sustainable environmental governance.

I am a research administrator with over fifteen years’ experience supporting programs at McGill and at the Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal. I manage ResNet’s budget and expenses, plan meetings and events, and provide support to ResNet’s diverse projects and initiatives.

I work on ecosystem services, mapping and assessing them, being interested in both the process (selection of methods, tools & indicators), and related conceptual questions. I strive to obtain results that can provide answers relevant for local as well as for higher level decision making, to optimize how we use land for supporting both biodiversity and people.
